We recently moved from out of state to Maryland and didn’t know anyone and didn’t know a thing about living up here or where we even wanted to live. Moving so blindly was such a daunting thought! All of it changed as soon as we met Robyn Porter! We‘re so beyond thankful we crossed paths chose her as our Realtor. Robyn has been absolutely amazing to work with, oh so knowledgeable, (incredibly!) patient, fun to work with, extremely professional, knows the market (and industry professionals!) so well, and was always in our (her clients) corner. Half of our house hunting was done while we were out of state. She would (happily!) go to countless homes we were interested in within the hour or day (which is HUGE because the market had been moving FAST!), take incredibly detailed video walkthroughs (remembering and pointing out the little specific things she knew we cared about in a home), and chat with us about the home she had just left. She never pressured us and had such a positive “onward and upward!” attitude when a home didn’t work out. She absolutely loves what she does and it truly shows!

She found us a “coming soon!” dream home that wasn’t yet on the market or anywhere online and we closed on our home this past weekend. Her recommendations throughout (closing company, inspector, etc) were always on point and it could not have been a better or smoother process. Whether it be *bringing us home grown veggies or fresh eggs from her farm or *connecting us to people she knows that LIVE in the neighborhood we were curious but knew nothing about to *hearing that after(!) we closed we’ve been spending the majority of our time in our new unfurnished home (the movers coming a week later) and her rushing over to bring us 3 of her own air mattresses for us to borrow(!!) for the time being... I was referred to Robyn by a friend of mine. As a first-time, single home buyer, I wasn't sure what to expect with the real estate process or dealing with agents. I also come from the Northeastern US where we have a healthy skepticism for using agents and brokers of any type.

Simply put: Robyn exceeded all my expectations. She is a consummate service person! Her excellent command of the home-buying market and process in the D.C. area aside, she makes you feel like you are her only client. She is in touch all the time -- cell phone, email, text -- and even called me from Paris when she took a short vacation, just to check in.

Though I know Robin is also working with clients with higher budgets than mine, she always treated me like I was a millionaire client. She is highly detail-oriented and understands exactly what you are looking for and is never high-pressure -- something I always fear when using agents/brokers. When visiting condos, she often saw defects in the property well before I even had a chance to notice -- and I have a pretty quick eye.

Whenever I needed a positive voice or some hand-holding, she was there. Whenever she saw a potential glitch, she stepped in on my behalf to make the process smoother.

For instance, when I had a problem with my first lender and had to switch banks at the last minute (due to an error and questionable ethics on the bank's part), she referred me to another mortgage company for a rush mortgage in 8 days -- and they came through with an even better deal than the first lender. She also steered me to a great settlement company -- and sure enough, my closing was supereasy and quick. The process was painless for me.
