Herman Vogler Conservation Area — Attraction in Rogers Township

It's nice and peaceful but I wouldn't waste your time if you are looking for a place to fish from shore. The water was pretty shallow when we went and very weedy. We tried fishing there for a while but got nothing but a bunch of mosquito bites for our trouble. We honestly couldn't find a good place to fish from shore anywhere in the Rogers City area, and not for a lack of effort, as we tried in 5 places that someone told us they had seen people fishing at and caught...

Nice trails through mostly deciduous forest but there is some Cedar swamp. Not as many views of river as I had hoped. The inner loop between marker 16 and 17 has a lot of downed trees so I would suggest trying the outer loop. It's sort of sad because based on the amount of boardwalk there was obviously some money invested in this park at one time but based on the condition of the boardwalk I would say it is now being neglected.
