Honestly for all the tax money spent to make the park beautiful I feel like they are letting it go. The lake itself looks so trashy. It looks like there are no fish or they do not have enough of the right fish to help eat all the algae as well as the bugs hovering over the top. The pier rails were covered in spiders which i know is nature but up keep for the park should be a priority since so much was spent to make it what it is suppose to be. It looked like spider season in Australia when we went to just have a nice relaxing evening walk so leaning over to look at the non existent fish was like a fly getting caught in a web. The water stunk really bad because of all the floating gunk and because it is stagnant. They should seriously consider putting a fountain or something in to help the water move around and build up the water ecosystem with new aeration plants and fish that will clean the moss and algae up and it would look beautiful again. Also the amount of mosquitoes for the short time we were there was insane!! Put in some bat houses and that wouldn't be such an issue either. Why were the animals ecosystems not thought about when the people made plans to change this park?? We saw nearly no flying birds up ahead, no fish, no bats and not 1 duck or goose there which is not usual for that lake. I have grown up here my whole life and never seen...

So my boyfriend and I are visiting his Ma and step Dad and we wanted to take the fur babies some where for a good walk and his Mom took us here....I'm in love with this place. I wish my home town (Albuquerque) had a park that was this amazing. This park has a: Lake, hiking, biking trails, multiple dogs parks w/axillary obstacles! And docks for boating (no motors!) Fishing, and benches and seating, picnicking area all over, and a huge outside covered area with a Huge fire place that you would see like in a castle with enough tables and chairs for activities like birthdays, wedding, graduation ect... everything is free but this area you have to rent for the event. And it has a skate/bike course for kids and adults two separate areas they both have really cool ramps and hills and a bike station where you can wash off your bike and gear. This place is exactly what all communities should have. It's the kind of special place where you can take the family or a romantic date or birthday parties or even just find a quite spot to read a book or study. This is a beautiful example how to incorporate mother nature and people activities but not ruin the natural beauty of forest or the creatures that inhabit this area. This is a must see in this town of...

Just went there for the first time in 3 years. Yes the redevelopment is very nice and beautiful but it is not disabled friendly anymore, especially for fishing. We have fished there for 20 years, mainly off the back side, the dam, but we can't anymore. My husband is a leg amputee and he can't fish there easily now, whereas we used to drive to the best spot and fish for countless hours. That's impossible for him now because there is no access. He has fished there for 50+ years since his dad took him as a child, we took our kids and now we can't take our grandkids because of lack of access. There's no longer a kids pond, where kids tournaments were held. Not disabled friendly at all. You took away access to the entire lake except for one small end where it is the most shallow. When you could drive all the way around people were still able to walk around i. Now that part of the lake is closed to fishing for...

The lake Atlanta park is one of our favorite places to go while the weather is warm. There are tons of things to do from biking, walking the trails (paved and unpaved), hiking, playing at the park or even just splashing in the streams. I’ve also seen people rock climbing off the trails as well! My 3 year old never gets bored here since there’s so much to do! My only complaint would be that the water fountains never seem to work whenever we go, so i would definitely recommend bringing some drinks along! Would be even better if they had some kind of food truck at the park as well! The whole area is also very well kept up with, i never see garbage laying around or anything that could hurt little ones. The whole environment is very family friendly!
