The shiny white courts at Rolling Hills Estates’ Ernie Howlett park; it’s not fully pictured here, but to the right of the basketball court is a pristine but neglected and shallow, semi-coarse sand volleyball court. These courts are hidden in the middle of the peninsula’s far more popular equestrian infrastructure.

This park hosts summer concerts. Large baseball field, hiking trails, tennis, stables, and horses. Thank you for everything you do for our community. Blessings ❤️

Great running and easy hiking trails! Looking for a place to make you feel like you’re in Kentucky or at the very least “NOT Los Angeles”? This is a great secluded getaway with a brand new playground for the kids and lots of sandy dirt (with lots of mulch in some places) paths to get away from the hustle bustle of LA traffic. Go for a 2 hour hike and never cross the same path twice. Get a great rolling hill run in. You’ll encounter horseback riders and dog walkers... but very little of them, or anyone else, making you feel like you own a piece of God’s country. Until you get back in your car to go home. Nice little free library and GREAT bathrooms and...

Great park. Went for walk on trail with my son, cousin and her two dogs. The trail was perfect. Had a great view of Los Angeles where you could have a picnic. As we continued on the trail to park, we saw all kinds of fun critters. Passed by a stable and saw two cute ponies and an adorable goat. My two and half year old loved running around picking up sticks and kicking leaves. The park was modern, lots of room to run and be creative. Lots of climbing. Great for ages 2-12. Or even older. Even though it was wood chip, it was soft and well maintained. I will...

Most people don't know this but this park and equestrian facility was created from a solid waste landfill. This was filled in the 70's under a agreement between Rolling Hills Estates and the LA County Sanitation Districts.

The fill is all construction debris, so the fill doesn't produce any significant landfill gas nor does it settle.

There are hiking trails that you can take from.the park. If you walk to the top of "Butcher Hill"(an easy climb), there is a tremendous view of the LA basin from Long...
