A ginormous park with over 12 fields, a playground and other amenities well-maintained by Sparta's Park Maintenance. I found this park by chance after visiting the abandoned, turned Sparta Train Station Museum. I drove around the corner and noticed the three parking lot areas and folks walking; which is a plus because I'm always looking for new areas to walk.
I am a train lover and have been since a child, so in exploring the park, I walked unmarked areas and found a yellow and red trail that led to what is the old Sparta line. At times, maintenance is done on the tracks and the tracks are well-maintained with no garbage strewn along them. I would have loved to walk along them, but there were posting signs and I believe there is a shooting range nearby as well.
