I go here all the time to ride the single-track and hang out in the wigwams and teepees that have been popping up all over the park. Lots of great bike runs for a small park, love tying the short runs together in New and in familiar ways ro make moderate length trail rides and I always try to see if I can't locate the resident coyote if I'm there later in the day. I usually spot her by the cemetery or right along the treeline edging cemetery to the east, though last week I spotted what was surely her den or a favorite napping spot up over by the city water cistern right off the gravel road under a dead fall ten meters from gravel road and literally on the single-track intersection there. Fun. There's also numerous great horned owl and an abundance of white tail around. When I ride here and at tamarack park on the other side of Dale, I usually forget that I'm right in the thick of suburban track home dystopia for a bit. Really quite nice until that pesky Roseville pd drone buzzes overhead and brings ya...
Read moreThere's an off leash dog area next to the fenced in dog park here. The park area is a great place to bring your pet to play. There are tables to sit at and socialize with other owners.
The large area just down the trail is for big dogs who run fast to play. Please please please don't bring children there. Big dogs with lots of energy play hard. When a kid gets hip checked by a dog playing with another dog they can be seriously hurt, and some dogs that show up at the large off leash are aren't socialized to kids.
This is my favorite place to bring my dog to play because she can really stretch her legs and sprint down the trails, but today she ran into a little girl while playing with the girl's dog and took the girl down hard. I felt terrible and we left immediately. That part of the park is for dogs, not children. I've posted a photo of the warning sign about bringing children to the large off leash area.
If you have a big dog that loves to run and play, I hope Juice and I run into you at the...
Read moreThis is an excellent park with many different ecosystems. You have wetlands, oaks, pines, and much much more. The terrain is wonderful and changing with a few nice hills for exercise. There are some paved trails but the majority of the park is composed of soft trails. Even on a hot day, the woods are terrific and cool. The puns are very buggy but wonderful. There are a lot of wildlife as well. We saw a deer, dragonfly, damsifies, and frogs today. There is a nice overlook with a pair of tables and benches. There are four spots with benches in the parks rest, one of them is a shaded double bench. There is also a really cute fairy door that kids can leave things in. It is located in the Southeast Park region on the other side of Dale Street near one of the signs for a curve. Very very...
