Gull Lake is absolutely beautiful! I always get real excited coming to Gull Lake as it is a prime example of how lakes should be. The lake is one of the largest in southern Michigan, and many water sports can be enjoyed like wake surfing, swimming, paddleboarding, fishing, even scuba diving! Gull Lake's clear waters have largely been contributed to the lake being spring-fed and filtered by the non-native zebra mussel. Because of these clear waters you will often see scuba divers here diving to see the many artifacts that have been purposefully placed at the bottom of the lake, including a phone booth, a motorcycle, a car, two boats, an ice shanty, some railroad tracks, and a swing set. Historically, Gull Lake has been a private getaway for wealthier families, and you might even see one of the weekend sailboat races from the local yacht club. I don't feel that way really though. I would love everyone in Michigan (World) to realize how beautiful Gull Lake is. The water is incredibly clear, the lake is very, very deep, it is full of a wide variety of fish both natural and stocked. There is a free boat launch that's really not that much good but it does work especially to get kayaks or small boats in the water. Alternatively it's only $10 to park and launch your boat at the principal boat launch. Ice fishing is excellent, the sun sets are magnificent.
