Beautiful! My children each do an experience gift for my birth month each year and my daughter chose to bring me to Smithton Beach for the first time. How have I never been here? It’s a slight walk, but peaceful and quiet. This place is a hidden gem with beach type swimming and a relaxing area to sit for reading, drawing, etc… It is so quiet down in this area that you can hear the fish flop. I can only describe it as just the sound of nature. The only time there was really much noise beyond other people that were there was the train that goes by across the river behind the trees. It’s a little bit of noise for a minute, but, especially on a fall day behind the trees, it is just beautiful to see. The only thing I had an issue with (hence the 4 stars) was the fact that it seems older kids may get dropped off or walk down and their language takes some of the peace away, especially to the families who had very young children there. I had noticed that a few families left pretty quickly. Other than that, I had a wonderful time with my daughter who brought lunch and had a small fire to roast marshmallows and enjoy s’mores! Would love to return 😊

I just moved right by here and thought it was so cool how many people come here from all over to swim and fish and kayak and float. Love the smell of sunscreen and a radio going and people swimming and having fun. Met some awesome people here!

Easy put in and out. Parking lot can get pretty full. There could be a better identifier when getting off the river. Several spots up river to put in for varying float...
