Dale's is located in a very old small town along the Youghiogheny river. The river trail, canoeing, fishing are the larger attractions for this area, and the CedarBrook golf course is just minutes away as well as several wineries. This town was home to the famous Stoney's brewery long ago as well. The town itself hasn't seen much life in it for many many years, like many smaller coal towns in SW PA. Dale's a diamond in the area. They spent a good bit of money to create a really nice outdoor area, as well is the inside. They've done a great job at making this a place that is much more than a place to stop and grab something to eat. As other reviewers have stated, they do have a good burger. It's not a super thick burger that you'll struggle to eat, it's just thick enough but a wider burger on a bun that doesn't disintegrate in your hands. They lightly season (not spice, possibly A1) their burger meat and it turns out really well. Honestly it's one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The munchie platter was enough for 5 people and likely up to 8, and is extremely affordable. I will...
Read moreThe food is pretty good, but nothing came out particularly hot. It was lukewarm at best, which was surprising since it was not busy at all when we went. They forgot my boyfriend's soup, and when we asked about it, they "found" it in the back and brought it out, but it was cold. They never heated it back up or got a new one. The cake was a total disappointment. Charging $12 for a slice of cake that is 80% thick, overly sweet icing is a complete rip-off. The summer cocktails we had were way too sweet as well. They did take off the soup from the bill but for 2 drinks, a gyro, a burger, and slice of cake to be over $70 (including 20% tip) at a local bar, I thought that was a little pricey. I should also add that a small side (1-2oz) of mayo and ranch were $1...
Read moreExcellent food always and friendly staff. Having grown up in this town and being good friends with previous owners and owner before them as well actually. Used to bartend there many many many moons ago while working at Stoneys Brewery back in the day.
First time back to my hometown area in years is right when new/current owners took over. Amazed at the remodel job they have done. I thought Jeff and Vinny had one hell of a remodel job done when they took over. The new owners even kicked it up another notch or two. Love the outside patio addition.
I don't go there often anymore. Those days/years are gone now for this fella. But when I do never...
