Lakeside Park South — Attraction in Rowlett

Really nice place. Glad to see it recovering from the tornado from a few years ago. They've really given the park a new face by adding new trees and fixing up some of the areas there.

You will often see people fishing out here, paddling, kayaking or cruising around on jetskis or in boats. Some people bring their own hammocks and set up a spot near the water to relax after setting out a few poles.

There's two porta potties which are usually in good condition unless some brats have come and knocked them over. The benches are a little wonky and bent strangely but overall, it's a nice place to be.

Often people are feeding the ducks here or playing in the volley ball sand pit. Other times you see people on the little boardwalk they added a few years ago which I love because you can look out over the water. There's also a nice pier to go out on but that's a favorite spot of many so you'll be lucky to get it.

It's very shaded too which is nice and all those trees make for very happy doggos that insist on sniffing each one like they're from crime shows trying to figure...

The waiter we started off with was an odd duck who took our drink order and never came back. He said they were out of dinner rolls all together, but turns out they just needed to cook more and no one did. We had to call over the manager (unsure of her name). She took VERY good care of us. She was fast and very kind, and even gave us a free refill on queso to oversee the dinner rolls. Once our order came, my grandmother realized she could not chew the CFS due to her teeth so the manager took off her meal all together and gave her a new dinner at no cost. We did not ask for that, we said we would pay but she just would not allow it. Krissy was also helping us and making sure we had been cared for properly. Krissy...

The only reason why I give this place three stars is because one night me and my kids are just hanging out and the amount of water bugs aka the big cockroaches were just a swarming everywhere there was no way to get away from them but this only happens at night time this place is my favorite place to go at night time and now I can't in the summertime because of how infested it is with the big huge water bugs PS I am extremely afraid of them that's why I feel that way so if you don't feel like that then that is the best place to go and moonbathe play volleyball go...
