Billy the Kid Casino — Attraction in Ruidoso Downs

This is a cool little place in beautiful place in Ruidoso downs NM. We stayed across the street at the Best Western pines. The hotel was very nice, and Cozy.. My wife and myself spent our anniversary this year in Ruidoso and we loved it. I have to say I had an awesome time at the Billy The Kid Casino, but honestly the bar next to the casino was a small, but great hangout.. My wife and myself had fun betting on the simulcast horse races, but I have to admit the best part of our evening, and the next evening as well was meeting Don the bartender there. I must say Don was truly a great bartender and person, he treating every single person that walked into that place like they were close friends, or maybe even family. He was very courtious, friendly, professional, and gave every single person positive vibes. I truly enjoyed the conversations we had, and his awesome way of doing business and making new friends. It's hard to rate this casino. Usually we find a machine that wins a little, then losses some. And we enjoy the challenge. Don't get me wrong we never think we are going to win big. We end up eventually losing it all. But neither of us ever found that machine. It's clean and they wipe down the machines steadly. The security guard at the entrance was super friendly and very helpful/patient. The restaurant/bar was clean and although the menu is limited, it had something for everyone. The catfish and hush puppies were good, just wish there was more then one plank and 3 puppies (very small). The waitress was very nice. Had to go into the kitchen to find her tho. It was super slow so I'm assuming she was doing prep work for the evening rush. Plenty of parking. It was my birthday, and I hardly go to casinos, will I told them do I get a T-shirt they said no, but have me a card membership of 20.00 and told me if I play you win, I won more than 20.00, and when I collect it only gave me 3.00, supposedly I have to put some of my money in I put 5.00, and play ate all my money and the 20.00 and more. I told them ty for my birthday gift, I didn't get my winnings they told me I needed to put more money to get my winnings I received from the 20 gift ithey gave me.
