I have been visiting since I was a kid. Not a lot has changed. The outside faucet to rinse off, an entrance ramp to the beach and showers are convenient. Parking during the day is expensive. You may be able to find parking either at the one hour parking that overlooks the beach or the parking along RT 1A further away from the beach. Noticed more seaweed than usual. Seagulls patrolling the beach looking for what is "Mine, mine, mine!" I have not eaten at the concession stand so I have no opinion of the food. Beach is rather clean. Rosa Rugosa or Japanese 🌹 Rose grows along the path next to RT 1A. I remember it from when I was a kid. The 🐝 bees and butterflies will hang out there. The cherry 🍒 tomato 🍅 resembling "hips" are supposed to be edible, but, I have never tried one. Update: Sunday morning, August 2021; Ahhh! My book 📖, my coffee ☕, my muffin 🧁, my seagull and my 🪑 chair! I saw 🦋 butterflies and bees. Is there a lesson in that? No 🗑️ trash cans. Not even inside. I guess it's carry out. Please don't litter 🚯! Thanks. The flowers along the side trail are nice to walk by. 🐝 Bees...
Read moreAwesome beach. Perfect size for if you've got smaller kiddos. $15/car load, Handicap tags do not have to pay this fee. So it's FREE. But get there early if no reservations made bc if it's full you'll be turned a way. They e got bathrooms, showers, baby change table/room, outdoor footwash and sprayer hose to rinse off. Gift shop, food and drinks, sunscreens ect. There's a HUGE grassy area with plenty of pic nic tables to have a sand'ish free lunch and snacks. And you can fly kites also up on the grass. It is a bit of a walk from parking lot so if you've got something on wheels to help carry stuff you'll be much happier when you finally get to the beach. But for a day with grandkids it's a great place to go and spend very little money and the kids CANNOT get lost or out of you sight on this beach, and you can hang out until 8pm when he gates are locked and the park closes. Highly recommend...
Read moreWe had a great time at this park and beach. Very clean beach. Waited awhile on the street to get in the lot for parking, but there was plenty of spaces. There is a restroom, but we didn't have need. We appreciated the water available to wash off feet before getting in the car, showers too if you get really sandy. This beach gets a sunrise, not a sunset, if that is something you like to know. Bring your own picnic, it's a ways to walk to any snackbar that we were able to see. It looks like they used to have one at the park, but it didn't appear to be maintained anymore. This is an alcohol free beach. Not sure if it is supposed to be smoke free because someone was definitely smoking or vaping nearby that was not enjoyed by us. Lifeguards on duty during...
