My first and last time at the beach in 2020. It was also my first time at a Maine beach and I had no idea how clean and serene they were. I guess I'm just used to all the garbage and crowds along the Jersey Shore. The only downside is that parking is a bit pricey, at $20 a pop. But if you are an early bird and can make it there before I think either 8 or 9, then parking is only $5.

Since we came on a Tuesday (at around noon), there weren't much people around, which was super nice. The weather for that day was only forecasted at the low 70s with some clouds, but it turned out to be a great beach day. It was warm, but not sweltering. Warm enough to go in the water - but only if you're brave. The water was icy cold. But after a while, you just become numb and don't even notice it (lol). There aren't really any waves but there is a very strong current so you definitely don't want to mess around with that. I never went out further than past my stomach, especially since I don't swim very well. Even just standing there with the water up to my waist, I could feel the currents pulling me.

The best part of this beach is that it's only a 20-minute drive from Portland. We were visiting for the week and staying in Downtown, and didn't want to drive far to get to a beach so Ferry Beach was perfect for us. If I lived in the area, I would totally get a...

I visited today with my family for the first time in many years. It was nice to be back to the clean and beautiful beach/park. I do have a serious concern, however, regarding the sand pathway from the beach leading to the parking lot. It needs a boardwalk. The sand was, with no exaggeration, like walking on hot coals. My feet got burned despite having flip flops, children were crying, and other adults were trying hard to move quickly through it with difficulty and pain. This was quite disturbing. People attempting to walk toward the beach were afraid to do so after witnessing others. This was at 2:00 p.m. Please put some resources into improving the...

This is a great place to come by yourself, with a friend, bring your family or take your pet for a walk! Just, please, pick up after your dog! There are many walking trails, all clearly marked and labeled for easy access and the novice trail walker. Also, they offer picnic tables, restrooms and beach access during the on-season. Even when the gate is down; people are still welcome to walk the trails at their leisure! Park workers and volunteers kindly ask that you pick up after yourself when using the Park Grounds. Enjoy! Pictures were taken from Google Images, they are...

Ok reading about this place at first I thought too good to be as advertised. First impression was wow nice parking for handicap and regular. Bathrooms were very nice and open during all warmer weather. The path down to beach is very accessible for any wheelchair. Not crowded clean area with a lifeguard stand ( wasn't used while I was here) Many seashells for kids to collect benches to sit on AAA rating from me. Only thing I did see was a very strong riptide but as a seasoned beach goer I know those can happen anywhere. Just keep your eyes peeled.
