It's really pretty and peaceful. Tons of lush grass and fully mature trees and foliage. Well maintained. I was unaware of this hidden gem of nature nestled between urban and suburban areas. Worth the drive and now that i know it exists ill definitely be returning with my kids. I Wish explored a bit more and took pictures pictures for a more complete review ...tbh i stopped at the side of the road (just past the bridge- which looked really cool, btw) after a lengthy and confusing detour which caused me to open maps as a means to navigate my way into the pocket area from south Sacramento/florin & 99 as there was a complete shutdown of florin road on both sides from greenhaven to south land park dr... as well as several side streets so getting into pocket was a bit of a side quest...but coming in from largely urban area to the view of the park and quaint bridge was a delightful change of scenery, well maintained and a view that rivails the best nature paintings. Read moreSuch a pleasant park, tucked away off the busiest street of Florin, and mostly dedicated to the neighborhood passersby, biker or jogger, on his way across the bridge over Florin... Such a time stopper this park is, and never to be spoiled by the ability to "stop & sit" and soak it all in, because this park has no benches or pic nic tables... The absence of any sitting arrangements, gives you a haunting feeling, that someone dosen't want you as a neighbor for a few hours, or a few minutes, even though you are a neighbor already. Such a great running path, spoiled, by the spoilers who don't want you to take a load off, from Such a great jog... I get it, and I don't get it. No playground.... No Restrooms.... The park has weaving cement walkways throughout, foot bridges over busy streets, and lined with pathway lights for evening strolls. The park is beautifully landscaped and has many park benches to sit on and rest or watch children play and folks walking their dogs.
It's easy to walk the paths, under the canopy of hundreds of trees, and enjoy the shade of a hot Sacramento afternoon.
