I like this park but there could be more shade though and my dog got fleas and a tick here. No poopy bags so byob.
Huge issue: the last time I went in the small dog side, this asian looking couple came in with a small dog, and two human toddlers that were not on leashes....ahem.
Then the husband he sits down and opens a bag of fast food to eat. Well that's not fair to the dog owners, hello ITS A DOG PARK!! Some dogs don't like small children, plus the food was not appropriate in a dog park. Dogs may fight over food. It was very ignorant and selfish IMHO.
These people behaved like it's a personal picnic area for their toddlers to run loose.
If you go here with a dog you better hope your dog doesn't get confused, nip and chase these tiny kids if they smell like food, because you may get sued by some ignorant, selfish, entitled people whose 2 year old toddler is running all over & could get bitten.
It's not an offleash kid park, that isn't the purpose. My small dogs have no experience around small kids. I felt like those parents were taking a giant risk and put the other dog owners in a real bind.
Anybody that knows dogs is all too aware that many dogs are easily upset by toddlers who often make sudden moves, run and scream and cry, they may even grab a strange dog the wrong way, and then they can get bit. Maybe they smell like the food that their dad is eating.
They need to put up a sign that says no kids under like, age 7 are allowed. And, No food allowed. This is not a Picnic Grounds. I think it would be prudent. But as they say, you can't legislate stupidity.
The sign just says kids under 14 must be with a supervising adult. It also says you are responsible if your dogs bites. So I had to leave and haven't been back because I didn't want my dogs in this position. That's...
Read moreThere are paths, a gated and sizable dog park with a section for big and a different gated section for the tinier angry dogs. There's water, buckets, pools, garbage recepticals and a 2ndary gated area so no dogs escape. Be mindful to pick up after ur dog and know that no everyone is as nice...so watch out for landminds. There are paths, baseball and soccer fields and space inbetween for picnicing. There are public restrooms and parking. Great place to bring your dogs...but don't forget they're animals. It's at ur own risk. Feisty or reactive dogs come in ALL sizes, just like some of those dogs can have nasty or nice owners. Be real...it's a free country. And unfortunately I've run into pet owners who have discriminated against my daughter's dog's breed and he's never bit anyone, but he's an intimidating size. Nature made him this way...just like I'm big boned! One would home ur being responsible by bringing ur dog to exercise and socialize in what one hopes is a safe environment. So they don't end up having a build up of anxiety. But don't lose ur mind...they're still animals. Believe there are we good in people and for goodness sake, clean up your language when there are kids around. I hope that lady who tried to kick my granddog reads this. And I want her to know I pray for her kids...in hopes they know what good traits to pick up from their mom and which...
Read moreTook my dog there this morning for her 1st experience at a dog park. There were 2 pits playing and they chased my dog around a bit until their owner recalled them. Everything was calm until lady and her antagonizing puppy pit mix showed up. After I was fed up with her dog creating chaos, relentlessly chasing my dog, and not calming down, I decided to leave. I recalled my dog to put a leash on her and go home. Thinking to myself this is no big deal. There are bad pet owners everywhere. We'll just come back another time. As I was putting a leash on my dog, her dog came over antagonizing again, so I gave the dog the stiff arm to keep it at bay. I heard "Get your hand off my dog!" All I wanted to do was leave and she continued raising her voice at me defending her dog's behavior or her inability to teach her dog appropriate behavior. As I was closing the inside gate to the catch pen her dog tried to lunge through the gate and got pinched. I'm still just trying to leave and the lady becomes irate and tries to hit me with the ball in her "chunk-it." When she missed, she became even more irate and hit me with her "chunk-it." Stay away from this place if you see a new white...
