Pros: Beach is so beautiful and is my new favorite beach in the area. This place is extra special because of the shallow tide pools that are perfect for small children to play in and the hard packed sand that has minimal shells making it easier to walk in barefoot. This is much different than the beaches directly North(Anastasia State Park, St Auggie Pier, Micklers Landing) and is a plus for small children and dogs. There is also a great food shack/restaurant very close that serves delicious food and the ladies there were so courteous. Cons: (1) The bathrooms, like all St Johns County beach bathrooms, need an upgrade. Though definitely not the worst beach bathroom I’ve seen in the area! But this would not deter me from visiting again. (2) Parking, not the worst of all the beaches in the area but can be limited so get there early. There may be a shuttle or park and ride option, you would have to check the county...
Read moreNice, clean beach. When the tide is going out, it has a nice sandbar. Driving allowed on the beach for a fee. Good sized parking lot and it's free to park. Two large pavillions with picnic tables. Bathrooms are typical of a beach, but they're actual bathrooms, not port-a-potties! Shower stations available to rinse off. Places within walking distance to go eat. Gave a 4 star rating only because it's on the Atlantic coast, which means it's usually windy and rip currents are strong. So, not technically about the "park". If you're there already, drive the 15 minutes south on A1A and visit The Rocks @ Washington Oaks State Park. Beautiful, unique rock formations. There's a fee, but its only $5 or $6 and it will also give you access to the gardens on the opposite...
Read moreI love coming here! The white sand beaches are so pretty! My extended family loves to meet here for the 4th of July. We park on the beach and the kids play in the ocean and sand with all the toys and boogie boards. We bring a giant tent for shelter from the sun and whatnot. We bring subs from publix and coolers with plenty of water and drinks and chill all day. At 7:00pm there's no cars allowed on the beach so we pack up everything we don't want to carry and wait for the fireworks. We can see the show from Flagler beach and the St. Augustine fireworks and I think the Hammock Resort show too. I love it! It's a really cool spot to share with my family. We all have fun and always make...
