Where do I begin? Friday night will be one of my favorite memories from my first visit to St. Croix. This farm has been beautifully renovated with great attention to detail. It offers peaceful vibes, excellent drinks, tours, and conversations with the amazing staff members.
I can’t leave this review without acknowledging each of them. I met Khalil first; I arrived around 5 PM, and he made me one of their signature drinks. It was refreshing, and he explained the farm to me with great energy. He was very calm and articulate, and you could tell he was authentically himself. It was such a pleasure getting to know him. After a couple of drinks, he invited me back at 7:30 for music, food, and cocktails.
When I returned, I sat at the bar area right at 7:30. I was immediately greeted by Mark, who I believe dealt with public relations and media for the farm. He told me how they wanted this place to be welcoming to everyone on the island. Once again, you could genuinely see the passion they had for making this a great destination.
I then had a conversation with Erin! She comes off as super spicy (lol), but she has the biggest heart. She was a professional through and through, and you could tell from her conversation and interactions that she loved being part of the team and cared about each guest's experience. It was nice to see how, even when they were busy, they would take care of each guest individually—making drinks, engaging in conversation, and ensuring everyone was okay before moving on to the next guest. At the end of the evening, Erin shared stories about her amazing children, being back home on the island, and how excited she was for the farm and her baking.
Lastly, I met Nate. When I first arrived at 5, we both ended up leaving for a short time and bumped into each other at Rhythm, a restaurant/bar up the road. We said hi and went our separate ways. Upon returning at 7:30, Nate was working as a barback, but he helped Erin and Khalil as needed. What stands out about Nate is that he is a true professional in the distilling, cocktail, and bar industry. The amount of knowledge and detail he could provide about various spirits, liquors, distilling, servicing, and maintenance was impressive. In every conversation, he spoke passionately about the vision and hard work that had gone into making Prosperity Farm Distillery a reality. I don’t believe I’ve ever met someone with as much knowledge in the entire process of distilling to making cocktails as Nate.
I travel extensively, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had such a wonderful time with every member of a staff anywhere else. Each member engaged in meaningful, genuine conversation, and the authenticity you felt from them was unmatched by any other place I've visited. I arrived as a guest at Prosperity Farm Distillery but left as a friend. We exchanged numbers and shared stories as they closed, creating a truly wonderful experience. I can’t wait to visit again and see all the growth and support from the local community. This place is going to be BIG on the island.
Khalil, Erin, and Nate—thank you for being such authentic people in a world where it often feels like everyone is trying to be...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience at Prosperity Farm and Distillery! Laurie welcomed us at the airport and invited us to visit—and we’re so glad we did. Erin greeted us like family, gave us a great tour, guided us through a tasting of their unique spirits, and gave us great local tips.
The next day, by way of Erin’s invitation, we joined a full tour that started in town with Blushee (the distiller!) personally driving us to the farm. Mark was our guide and did a fantastic job explaining the farm’s history, the sugarcane growing process, and how everything is distilled from cane to bottle. Kahlil wrapped things up with a delicious custom drink and great conversation.
The people here are kind, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. Don’t miss this stop while you’re in St. Croix—book the tour, you won’t be...
Read moreWe scheduled a tour today, and it wildly exceeded our expectations! Kahlil, our guide, and Erin, our bartender, were so kind and knowledgeable. We learned the history of the property, along with some of the history of St Croix. Then we saw the process of how several types of sugar cane are grown, learned how it’s processed, and toured through the distillery. Kahlil explained how the copper onion and basket set-up takes the “spirit” vapor from the cane juice to be re-absorbed and made into different liqueurs and tropical gin. Then Erin regaled us with a delicious sampling of wares, along with a cocktail, and insider tips on where to go while visiting Frederiksted. Super kind people, very interesting and educational experience, so worth the price of admission. So glad we went! Can’t...
