This place has a bit of something for everyone. There are playgrounds, a new splash pad, trails for hiking, paved paths for walking and bikes, baseball fields, tennis courts, and a pool. In the summer (May to early September) the splash pad and pool are open to the public. Spring, summer, and fall bring baseball and concessions at the top of the park. Our favorite time however is the Annual Aouth Side Fall Festival. Filled with craft vendors, food, live music, and games such as axe throwing and ring toss; it's a great time! During then Christmas season the park is lit with thousands of holiday lights making up several neat displays to greet you right off the parkway! Read moreThis park is larger than it initially appears as you enter through the front gate and has plenty more to offer than at first glance. The play area is spread out and has different groupings attractive to various ages. There are walking paths that snake through the grounds as well as playing fields and courts. The St. Joseph Southside Fall Festival takes place here annually in September, attracting many visitors and a wide variety of vendors. Read moreGreat park with lots to do! The splash pad is a wonderful addition and great for all ages. There are family restrooms as well as gender-neutral restrooms. Circle Picnic tables with shade and some without. It might be worth bringing your own lawn chair if you want to constantly stay in the shade.
Updated (July 2022) Less shade. Picnic tables aren't in shade until the sun moves toward 12:30pm. I'd still recommend bringing your own chairs to sit in the shade by the restrooms area. I'd also plan to get there right when it opens to snag a good spot as today (a Wednesday morning)...
