Oakdale Christmas Display — Attraction in Saint Petersburg

would be better if it wasn’t advertised as a drive-thru :/ my family and i have been staying as safe as possible amidst the pandemic, but still wanted to see christmas lights this year from the safety of our car. we saw that this place was advertised as a drive-thru and thought we’d be able to drive through and see the lights. we were wrong. we drove 45 minutes to find out that it was a walk-through with many more people than would be deemed safe in these times. yes, we could have done more research beforehand, but it was also the first place recommended to us when we looked up “drive-thru lights st. petersburg.” it looks like a beautiful display but it’d be nice if it was advertised as a walk-through first instead of...

Note: 2023 The majority of the display was not assembled this year, street view only, no walkthru. Owners wife passed away. Sending love & light to this family & their loved ones as they go through this difficult time. Not sure what the future of this kooky hidden gem of St. Pete will be.

Definitely worth a trip if you’re nearby - huge FREE walkthrough light display/attraction that started 46 years ago, growing larger and kookier each year. Evangelical-themed display that seems to have been created by a husband and wife team as a joyful way to minister the Word. Wonderful people, many lights and figurine displays, children will love this. Its been going on for 40yeras and they have invested much time and live into this cool light display project. They are on a missiin to spread the love and light (wink) ✌👼

One word of caution: Just be aware my uncles android phone got flash locked by a virus from criminal hack in close proximity to this popular display why we were using his cameras for photos. Take precautions and protect your phone with while at large public venues where you will be taking pictures during the busy holiday season.
