Back in the day, this was a wonderful place for Salem, NH residents to visit and swim. However, over the last 13 yrs now, the town wants us Salem, NH residents to pay to park our cars and enjoy the day, but yet, ALL the NON-NH residents from Lawrence & Haverhill, MA, who have ZERO RESPECT for our town beach, get to park and enjoy for FREE! SAD the MA residents who trash the bathrooms (over flood the toilets by stuffing toilet paper, and same with sinks, toilet paper all over the floor), leave their trash lying around outside the pinic tables as though the waste baskets are invisible to them and, blast Hispanic music. Basically in a nutshell, this park has been taken over by non-residents, non-americans who have ZERO RESPECT for the FREE usage of our town beach. There's a reason why the "townies" don't use it anymore. And even if you go to the town hall and pay the parking sticker fee, you CAN'T park in there anyway, the city of Lawrence, MA has it filled with their MA...

Pretty basic park with picnic tables, one picnic shelter in need of repair, a play structure, and a small pond where people swim and fish. There are also a few charcoal park grills and a single nature trail around the pond. During peak season they charge $5 for parking and honestly it's not really worth that since it lacks shade and the swimming area is super small but it's okay. If you live close enough to walk there, or if you can catch it when it's not too crowded it's not a bad place to be. There is also the skate park, which seems to need some work but the local...

It was a nice state park till they started charging parking fees during the week days as well as the weekends and yet there is very little upkeep going on and a body of someone was pulled out recently from the pond. I do like the park I just don’t like the lack of consistent care of it. And the fact its a state park doesn’t make it right to charge for parking. Your taxes from your homes and land and other stuff make the park possible. Learn the truth and set yourself free. Live free or die! That is the...

Really nice park. Has 2 separate play areas. One for older kids and one with less stuff for smaller kids. There's benches, charcoal stations, a cabin to get out of the sun or rain (no working bathrooms) trails and a skate boarding area too. It appeared to have an undercover or off duty police official maybe keeping an eye too. Which may make some people and families feel safer. My and my son had a great time.

You now have a penitentiary style iron gate surrounding the park, you can't get in, and they claim they are too understaffed to man the gate, so they intend to keep the entire park closed while they figure things out. Season starts Memorial Day according to the Season pass I purchased, but access is denied. They also removed all of the public usage grills. I hope things get better.

I only went here for the hiking trails. There is no map of the trail. It is a short trail and not peaceful considering you can hear the cars from the road as well as very loud construction coming from someone. The park just seemed to be dirty. There was a dead fish in the water. I will not return
