The flowers in Hurley Park, due mainly to the communal approach to gardening, are always spectacular during this high growing season in the Piedmont of North Carolina! The placards used to communicate the family for which each plot is maintained, are not only informative but many times moving. Personal stories of love and family are shared on each placard and many times speak of the motivations behind the types of flowers or names for gardens that each plot has inherited. It is worth the time to stop by and not only smell the " roses" but also read the stories about each Salisbury home. Early in the evening the fireflies light and the soft hum of the neighborhood can be heard in the background as the summer day winds down and the softly lit gazebos contain couples young and old as they steal a little smooch and a hug! A perfect summertime experience for not only an enthusiastic gardener but dog lovers can safely walk their " fur baby" without alarm. Why four stars and not five, more soft lighting along the walking path in the evening and better manners with dog poop would be an...

I absolutely love this park and feel fortunate to live within walking distance. Hurley Park is an excellent place to take walks, to take pictures, or to simply "be". There are gravel covered paths which are so much easier on your feet/legs than sidewalks are for walking. There are pretty gazebos and benches where you can rest, read, or spend time with a friend. Sometimes, you get glimpses of wildlife. Perhaps best of all, there is the beautiful and ever changing landscape to enjoy during all seasons of the year! The park has always been attractive, yet it seems like more care is being given to it lately. Thanks to all the people involved in keeping up this town treasure. You are most...

I love finding gems like this neighborhood park in Salisbury NC while traveling for photo shoots and events. This is a beautiful park with water features, trails and tranquil areas to just relax, read a book or just get some excercise. As a photographer, it's a perfect spot for photos. Just wear your bug spray because the ponds do attract allot of mosquitoes and they are healthy and aggressive. Other than that, highly recommend you visit. It is public and there are places...

Beautiful park with gravel pathways, over bridges. There are gazebos, benches, and I think there were picnic tables as well. It has lovely shaded areas available as you wind through. We were biking, but I would love this park on foot, with our dog, and it's the perfect park for botanical exploration and identification with young ones!
