Hogle zoo is not a world class zoo. It won't take you all day to see unless you really want to take your time and stop to see everything. They have 2 parks that are fairly nice. One has a splash pad that is on during the summer months. There are several smaller things throughout the park for kids to play on. It has a train ride and a carousel that are about $2 a person. It gets fairly crowded during the weekdays but is great to visit during the week. We have a season pass and could go every week. The exhibits are great and my kids can easily see the animals (1.5-8 years old). The terrain is fairly easy will one larger hill to get back to the entry. There are 3 main eateries. Read moreI love this spot at the zoo because it's relaxing to watch the animals swim and there is space to watch outside or inside depending on weather. It's a well designed area and the seals and sea lions seem like there is at least one individual up and about being active, which is nice. The polar bears are also insanely cute to watch when they are up and about. Last time we were here we caught the sea lion training session by chance and it blew my mind! So amazing, so cute, they are such smart and talented animals. I recommend looking up times and making a point...
Read moreThe Hogle Zoo has changed so much since I’ve last been there. It feels significantly smaller… but all in all, the facilities are much nicer. The animals look happier and the open spaces for them seem to be much more accommodating than they used be.
We showed up pretty early and there was no line to get in. But by the time we left, the line was beginning to form.
One thing I didn’t enjoy though was how loud the audio was blasting outside the lion viewing area… that was ridiculous!
