Gateway to many, many miles of The Bonneville Shoreline Trail! Lots of up and downhill hiking, can get a little slick in gravel/rocks. Go early(especially at this trailhead due to very limited parking and going in the summer gets very hot), wear sturdy shoes, take plenty of water and sun protection. Dog friendly ON A LEASH, bicycle friendly also. There are no bathrooms or water.

Access to the BST and Avenues Twin Peaks. Parking is roadside, but plenty. The trail to Avenues Twin Peaks is easy and well maintained and suitable for all ages. The last incline to the first peak is a little strenuous. Otherwise, the trail should be considered easy.

I am not sure I call it the Terrace Hills Trailhead so whatever. This is how I get to Bobsled trail, which is the greatest trail in the valley. Note that I said IN the valley. There are better ones in the mountains but you can be to this trail in 35 minutes ready to tear down Bobsled from your desk at work in downtown SLC. So that is great.

However, for this trailhead, it's at the top of Terrace Hills blvd, which is basically straight up for what feels like 400 miles when you're the one pedaling. The reason I gave it all five stairs is that it's where I get to Bobsled, and Bobsled is always...

I might have been the only person without a dog on the trail! So great for dogs, there are trails to branch off from the trailhead. A very steep start if you go east, but worth it at the top of the hill. Very dry air from the dry grass, I recommend going before the sun rises too high in...
