The trails at Beaver Lake Park are such great places to walk. The only thing you need to be careful about are the roots and rocks that make footing on a couple of the trails worthy of caution. Parking is never a problem - except at Halloween - when the park is decorated for Halloween and Nightmare at Beaver Lake. Such fun to see. Sammamish Rotary has an amazing team that puts together an absolutely amazing Haunted walk through the woods. But back to parking - there are two lots, one off 244th where the ball fields are, as well as the dog park. The other lot is further along SE 24th Street, after the little right turn/jog in the road about 100 yards or less before it turns into Beaver Lake Drive SE. This is where the Lodge at Beaver Lake is located. Both lots offer ample parking and restrooms. Wonderful trails trace the perimeter of the park with a couple good crossover trails to access the wooded interior. There is a paved/level gravel section accessible from the Lodge parking lot that goes around the Lodge meadow and down along the lake for those who are looking for an easier walk with a more stable walking surface. The map on the Park's website is great for getting an idea of how the lake and park are situated, as well as tracing the trails. You can get in some nice mileage with varied difficulty of trail surface by combining crossovers with the perimeter. The park is well maintained and clean EXCEPT for the occasional inconsiderate dog owner who doesn't clean up after their dog, but that is not usually the case. There are doggy poop bag and used bag disposal kiosks that are easily accessible if you've forgotten bags, and everyone will thank you...
Read moreWonderful thinking spot in the mornings! The trail is nice and kept up, and the open spaces are begging dogs to zip around and act loony - plenty of spare sticks lying around that looked like they've send a round or two of fetch. The pond was serene and there are benches for you to rest and take in the sight. Great place to see ducks foraging among lily pads and the facility buildings are clean and inviting. You can tell swimming is permitted here as any budding lily pads blooms are relatively far out from the beach and the sight of a few dead and discarded lily pads lay about the beach...please don't harm the landscape. Also - there is a heartfelt pet memorial tucked along the treeline...I didn't smell/see the ninja onions - but it will bring tears to your eyes if you are an unprepared animal lover. The landscaping and flowers were so beautiful that I felt my inner-child squeal at their colors. Definitely wanna go back and use the picnic pavilion...
Read moreCalm and pristine natural settings in Sammamish. The trail is good to walk with or without a dog. The shade here is large enough to host a barbecue for more than 50 people. There is an indoor facility also with a buffet setup where you can host 50 people as well. The bathrooms are clean. You can fish at the lake. There aren’t any beaver left now, but they used to there. Motorized boats are not allowed. But a great place to swim. A couple of totem poles adds another dimension to this park. Definitely worthy...
