I have been posting pictures in 311SA app to let them know that they need to cut the grass and tree branches, and they always mark the case as completed. But they didn’t do the job because the trail is the same or worse. I even called them and they said that they don’t know the exact address to do the job. I gave them the address and put a picture of the sign so they can locate it... This time I preferred to post this here. Because I’m tired of posting in the app and calling them to do their job cleaning this trailhead. I can’t believe they don’t know the address if they work for City of San Antonio. I know some people that used to go and walk here, but now they prefer to go to other parks, because those are cleaner and better looking. This trail has snakes because grass is too big and they don’t do a good maintenance as they need to. I took this pictures today, I did put some yesterday hoping they would clean the trail. Last night they closed the case, and marked as completed. 311SA App doesn’t work, or maybe they just don’t want clean this trailhead. But they do have a profile called “311 customer service” that reports residential houses that have garbage in their yards or need to cut their grass. You can see all reports if you...
Read moreThere's an old saying in Texas "Ya can't get there from here". In this case it is true, you can't get to the Arvil Ave trailhead from Arvil Ave. And trying to find the trailhead with the lack of signage is challenging. The trailhead is in Rodriguez Park, and can be accessed from Old Hwy 90 (aka Enrique Barrera Pkwy) via Rodriguez Ave. Once you find it, you can get on a very nice short loop segment on the Leon Creek Greenway Trail that is separated from the rest of the trail. There is plenty of shade on this short 1.25 mile loop. It is more level than the rest of the Leon Creek Greenway and perfect for walks or short and slow rehab rides for bicyclists recovering from knee surgery or other...
Read moreFishing in the stream near this area is fun. Some days there are lots of bites and big fish other days there are not. There are forever chemicals in the water so this is a catch-and-release area south of the park. The trail is fun to walk and it's not that big of a circle. Good for people who are in recovery. The trail continues though the park and is good for a long...
