The last time that I was here was about 23 years ago and it is just as mystical as it was then. The story goes: there was a nearby town with tiny houses, maybe miners or railroad workers. 1930-40s. A school bus for children got stuck on the railroad tracks and stalled. A train came and wrecked into the bus, killing all the children. So, if you pull up to the tracks (or even sit on them), put your car in neutral and turn the car AND lights off, your car will eventually start moving forward and roll over the tracks. It is supposedly the spirits of the children helping you over the tracks so that you do not experience the same tragedy. Bonus round, if you put baby powder or dirt on your bumper, you’ll be able to see the handprints of the children. It works today as well as it worked over 20 years ago when I was a kid. We did it about 5 times and at one point our truck stopped on the tracks, we thought we got stuck and then you could feel pushing and it eventually went over. Bizarre. I’ve seen many ghost documentaries on this location, and they’ve tried to debunk it many times. They’ve tried to say that there is a steady decline in the road that causes you to go over. And granted, there is, about 100 ft up the road. BUT, as you come to the railroad tracks, it levels out. You can take a level and see that the ground has a slight angle UP. That’s where you want to put your car in neutral. It may take a minute for your car to move, but it will. Just be patient. Make sure your car is 100% stopped when it’s in neutral and that your foot is off the brake. Car MUST be off. Extra bonus round, all of the streets of the nearby town (now a new development) still have the names of the deceased children. In 2001, the original houses were still standing. Abandoned but still there. Now it has been torn down and there is a new development but the street names are the same!! Check google maps! I love this location, and you can literally feel the vibes of the spirits here. So cool and highly recommended!!! If you are visiting San Antonio this is a MUST!!!!

Our truck WAS pushed off the tracks. We both looked at each other in shock. I’ve heard stories over the years. Was in SA and decided to try it. It’s an eerie feeling when you step out of your vehicle. There was a small memorial setup by the tree. I thought it was for the children so I wanted to see it. Instead it was for a young lady named, Jasmine Casiano. She was a passenger who died in a horrible car accident. Her driver was drunk and is in prison. May she rest in peace. So if you head out there stop by and visit her lil memorial. There were many others waiting to have their own experiences. I would definitely recommend you add this stop to your next visit to San Antonio Tx.

My uncles brought my cousins and I here as kids and a few days ago, I brought my husband and daughter. We crossed the tracks and turned around, put the car in neutral and let the magic begin. My daughter/husband were in disbelief as the car started to move on it's own. We came on a Wednesday morning, around noon, so we were the only ones there. After we were pushed passed the tracks, we turned around and attempted to do it once more. We pulled off to the side to do it again, and my husband put the car in neutral ((facing away from the tracks) and the car started moving in reverse and towards the tracks! This place is truly...
