The light park part two we enjoy it

Wolff Stadium is a lot of fun during Missions games! Family friendly, pet friendly, no bad seat in the place, and the Suites are terrific. Small fridge, wet bar, plates and utensils, a couch and condiments for your eats. Suites also have TV with game showing so you can better hear the announcers calling the game. I do wish that the concrete platforms that stretch across the rear of all seating areas was not cracked everywhere. Those cracks give pause to my comfort being high off the ground level. That being said, we enjoyed good food, great service and baseball! Missions had been on a 7 game winning streak, and though they lost this game I am sure they will rally in the next few. Swag tents sold fun and creative gear for Flying Chankla's and wonderful kids gear. The best part of our night was watching kids scramble like ants when trying to shaggy foul balls. Their energy and giddiness was contagious! We ate Frito pies, hot dogs, had water and beer, and sampled an array of DELICIOUS cookies. We'll worth the $6 per cookie price tag as these qualify as a meal, LOL! Bill Miller's is on site for reliable treats, and several other options of usual ballpark fare. Parking is plentiful, with a VIP lot close to the main entrance. The ballfield looked well maintained, and the scoreboard and digital wall were fun to watch. The capper for our night was Mother Nature. We had just had storms blow through the city, and the park's positioning is such that you capture gorgeous sunsets over the trees. The sky was a breathtaking gradient of colors. Great from all angles -- smart planning for the stadium. I look forward to going back soon!

In its heyday Wolff Stadium was known as The Crown Jewel of the Texas League. A bit of the luster has faded over the years as San Antonio transitions in minor league baseball to AAA status. In a setting west of downtown off Highway 90, this Stadium features a layout with Home Plate at the south-west corner, the orientation of which provides summer shade from the West for games in the evening. Home dugout is along 3rd base line. There's a berm for sitting on the grass beyond left field. It's also a place kids like to run around and expend energy. Being situated where there's less concrete and more green space, there's usually a nice cooling breeze here as evening moves in, and seating is comfortable, sight lines good, and they've upgraded concessions and have decent bathroom facilities. Parking is $5 a car. The Puffy Taco and a jalapeño mascot keep the kids entertained and happy. As with ALL BASEBALL VENUES, keep on your guard for foul balls hit into the stands. An elderly woman in the back of the section behind the visitors dugout was beaned the night we were there. Oh, they're fond of shooting fireworks, especially on weekends. Check their schedule for special events. It is a fun way to spend an evening. A beer and a dog and a game.

2023-04-11 Like other folks who mentioned $2 Tuesdays, I traveled from Del Rio to take advantage of the $2 ticket, $2 parking, and $2 sausage wraps. The parking was well orchestrated with plenty of traffic cops. The seats were great...close to the field. My major complaint is the concessions.

At the end of the third inning, I began my search for the discounted wraps. No signage anywhere indicating which concession stand offered this deal. Even the stadium greeters had no idea where to find them. Uh, management...maybe a good idea to inform the stadium staff when the major promotion is a food item?

I stood in line at three separate vendors. The first referred me to an area upstairs. The second (upstairs) assured me that the inlay concessions offered the wraps. After standing in line for 23 minutes at the third, they told me that the wraps sold out by the 2nd inning.

Wow. This was a major disappointment. Why so important, you might ask? Because the vast majority of the other ballpark food (hotdogs, pizza, corndogs, etc) START at $8. A regular sized soda costs $9. Outrageous. Needless to say, I DID NOT spend a single dime on concessions after this incident.

What a shame. This ballpark could be a major family attraction, but a family of five could EASILY drop over $100 to eat while enjoying $2 tickets? Criminal.

Go treat the kids to Whataburger before entering the stadium. By the end of the season, you can put them through college with...
