A special museum located in a historical 1920's building in San Benito, Texas, the city that conjunto music originated.
The museum has a wonderful display of a recording studio, record pressing equipment, musical instruments, costumes, the individuals that created conjunto, as well as, those that continue to perform and promote this unique style of music, and more.
The musican, Freddie Fender, grew up in the city of San Benito and became a famous conjunto and country musicain (note: when he recorded or performed conjunto music he spelled his first name "Freddie", but changed the spelling to "Freddy" with a "y" when he recorded/performed country music!)
Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame also offers accordian lessons and has live music at the museum...
