❇️Junipero Serra Park in San Bruno 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for families with kids: short, sweet hiking trails, two playgrounds, and picnic areas. 🥾1.6 mile loop on Quail trail to Live Oak Nature trail. 🍄 Discovered mushrooms and 🐌banana slugs after the refreshing rain. 🌳 Tranquil and green oasis, just minutes away from the city bustle. ✈️ View airplanes taking off and landing at SF airport from this park – an exciting bonus for kids. 🧺 Picnic areas with shade right next to playgrounds – great for summer get-togethers. 🐾 Leashed dogs are welcome to join in the adventure. 🚽 Yes 🅿️ Yes, vehicle fees can be paid in cash or the kiosk at the Meadow View Picnic Area parking.

Our group has had our annual picnic at Junipero Serra for more than 10 years. As a group, the general consensus this year was one of disappointment. We were met with many notices from the rangers about many small infractions. We could not display our flag, we had a tarp tied to a tree that had to be removed, the ‘music was too loud’, and we were not to bring folding tables. The interactions were respectful but many. The site had a lot of bees, and they provided one trap, that was ineffective. Sorry if this is the new normal.

This is a more "natural" park and thus has lots of Poison Oak along the pathways. The lower play structure is great for 4+ and is totally fenced. The upper playground is better for maybe 6+, but is also totally fenced. There are bathrooms at both. The trails are ok--somewhat short, dusty, and full of Poison Oak--but if you are looking for something a bit more native, then they are for you. Dogs are currently allowed on-leash at the park. There are picnic areas that can be reserved and some have pinata poles (!!?). The view of the Bay is awesome from the upper playground and...

A beautiful location with unfortunately hostile park supervisors.

Due to unposted rules restricting a single group, regardless of size, to 2 tables and a fire pit, and any activity more than picnicking requiring a permit, the park unfortunately did not meet our needs. This would not have been an issue if we had been treated with respect or courtesy when told. While the ranger was friendly in reciting these unposted rules, when we spoke with the supervisor P. Alvarez she was rude, aggressive, and combative. Safe to say that I will not be returning, despite the...
