❇️Junipero Serra Park in San Bruno 👨👩👧👦 Perfect for families with kids: short, sweet hiking trails, two playgrounds, and picnic areas. 🥾1.6 mile loop on Quail trail to Live Oak Nature trail. 🍄 Discovered mushrooms and 🐌banana slugs after the refreshing rain. 🌳 Tranquil and green oasis, just minutes away from the city bustle. ✈️ View airplanes taking off and landing at SF airport from this park – an exciting bonus for kids. 🧺 Picnic areas with shade right next to playgrounds – great for summer get-togethers. 🐾 Leashed dogs are welcome to join in the adventure. 🚽 Yes 🅿️ Yes, vehicle fees can be paid in cash or the kiosk at the Meadow View Picnic Area parking.

Our group has had our annual picnic at Junipero Serra for more than 10 years. As a group, the general consensus this year was one of disappointment. We were met with many notices from the rangers about many small infractions. We could not display our flag, we had a tarp tied to a tree that had to be removed, the ‘music was too loud’, and we were not to bring folding tables. The interactions were respectful but many. The site had a lot of bees, and they provided one trap, that was ineffective. Sorry if this is the new normal.

Junipero Sierra is your average family friendly local county park - a few short, relatively easy trails that lead up to a view of SFO, playgrounds and a variety of picnic areas with BBQ grills that you can reserve or drop in to use. There is a $6 parking fee and you can self-register if there isn't a ranger at the gate. Be aware if you choose to run or walk along the path on the shoulder of Crystal Springs road... Cars tend to fly around the curve much faster than the speed limit.

Junipero Serra park is a beautiful little getaway with stunning bay views, meadows, oak groves and redwood trees. The hiking trails are great and there is an awesome playground and picnic areas. The big slides are closed right now - it is very long and steep and a lot of fun so hopefully they reopen it soon. Restrooms are clean for a park and well maintained - they close at 4:00. Very dog friendly with dogs allowed on leash throughout the park.

We picnicked at the drop-in picnic area near the upper playground, which has several play structures, two huge slides, & a swingset. We all appreciated how clean & well-kept the area is, plus the chainlink fence adds a level of safety for children. Amazing views, lovely environment. LOTS of pine & eucalyptus so the air smells wonderful! There are many nice walking trails to explore, too.
