Pretty great park. Peak hours depend on how hot/ cold it gets. Huge fenced area where dogs can run around and get tired in. Wish there was more grass. There’s little patches of grass but none really. Over a pretty good park with a lot of places to sit but no shade really.

Great neighborhood dog park. One of the few in Mira Mesa. Gets a ton of use so there isn't much grass, but there are some areas with shade. There is also a water fountain and plenty of bowls to fill up. Bags are also provided so you can pick up after your pup!

I usually go to Scripps Ranch location but decided to take my 1 year old Shepard mix and 4 month old baby (her first time at the dog park!) knowing it might be chaotic we went at 8am. Walked in and everyone (about 8 other people) stared at me like I wasn’t supposed to be there….. ok went in anyways as my dog was excited. Everyone seemed annoyed if my dog wanted to play with their dog. Hello it’s a dog park. My dog is extremely friendly and playful. We left within 2 minutes of being there. Everyone literally stared at me until I drove away it was very strange lol I felt unwelcome there. (There was 1 guy with a boxer who was friendly and letting his dog play with mine (thanks dude!) but I felt so awkward we left anyways. It was hot AF there’s little shade and not much grass. 2 stars because it was fenced but yea I’ll be sticking to...

I'm rating this dog park low because 1. It's all dirt, no grass, and 2. There is no separate section for small dogs. They maintain the lawn in the surrounding park, so maybe I'm missing something but would it really be prohibitive to also maintain some grass in the dog park? I also haven't had good experiences taking my 22 lb mutt here. I've taken her to other mixed-size dog parks (we go to Grape street and others), but most times I take her here she gets chased and cornered by huskies and German shepherds that are way too rough with her. I don't think I'm the only one with issues here, because there are usually very few if any small dogs inside. I think it's too small to allow enough space for all the dogs. I wish they could dedicate a small piece of the park...

This is the closest park to my house but going there twice was all I could handle. This park seems to be popular with independent "dog walkers" who take random strangers dogs to the park and have no idea how to handle them. I saw so many disasters and near disasters, it was way too much anxiety. It felt like everyone was just standing around waiting for the next dog fight. Very sad to see so many lazy owners use the dog park so irresponsibly. Its unfair for the rest of us who take the time and effort to insure all dogs and owners are comfortable. A lot of aggressive dogs with really sad owners. I drive 5 miles extra just to go to a park in...
