Perfect place for Easter Egg hunt. Park is wide open and plenty of parking spot for everybody.
It's our second time here and we're always excited because our LO will for sure have some fun. There's a really cute well-kept playground, which I forgot to take a photo. Next time, I'll make sure to take one or two.
Each year and I hope they do this for a very long time. They do an Easter egg hunt in 2 different age group. The first group is the 3-year olds and under They spread out the eggs around the smaller field of the park and every parent with their LOs will circle around that area. As soon as they say go, all the little kids will SLOWLY grab the eggs until all of the eggs are picked up. It's so cute because the kids are so small and they take their sweet time.
Now, the older kids ages 4 and up (not sure if the oldest is twelve.) They spread out the eggs and covers 75% percent of the park. Then they all line up at the very end towards the playground. As soon as they say GO! ohmGeeh! It's like Black Friday for them, they all came running with their parents. It was like the amazing race but more like a vacuum. The field was all cleaned up in less than 2 minutes.
Good thing we have another year with the smaller group then will definitely start training for the...
Read moreOkay so full disclosure, the park itself is like 4 stars. Playground, field, good for walking, but the location isn't great for anything non-park or non-residential related. HOWEVER, I bump it up to the 5 star because of its location to so many hiking trails, which are all connected to the Los Penasquitos Canyon Trail, which is right along Penasquitos Creek. I've never dived too deep into the hiking (never more than a couple hours) so I'm not sure how extensive it is, but it's really fun to go exploring around here and see the greenery. The view is sort of nice, in that you can see far away, but you just see other hills and homes.
Lots of parking too. If you're looking to have a picnic with a bunch of people, I would be pretty shocked if you ran out of parking space. I've never seen it even half full, and I've been here a half...
Read moreI'm here at least twice a week. It's very clean and big enough to where you can spend quite a while exploring through all of the little side trails along the way. Wildlife is pretty active here, and you can catch a glimpse of deer and coyotes when passing through.
The main trails can get pretty crowded with bikers and hikers, but there are a lot of single tracks you can go down to avoid the bikes, just watch out for the horses.
Some may walk with their dogs off leash, but they are polite and respectful about it, so I have no issues there. The occasional bike on the single tracks are a little more annoying, but it doesn't happen often enough to be a...
