So I came back to this trail using the Limerick entrance and it's definitely harder. I don't recommend the Limerick entrance unless you're fond of having your hands on the dirt as you climb down towards the main San Clemente park and back up to the Limerick entrance on the way back. The walk after/before the climb is great, but to get there is brutal. My dogs enjoyed it, but I definitely didn't. The Limerick side almost looks like you're climbing eroded limestone which I highly recommend having great hiking shoes. I had running shoes, so it was a slow treck. Read moreParking off of Genesee provides about 30 spaces and open until 8pm. Bathroom and water fountain by the entrance. Trail is wide, unpaved dirt with few stretches of pebbles. Great for walking, running, and biking. No steep climbing except the short downhill at the start. Pond near the entrance can be crosses easily with the help of rocks on your right. Many trees provide shade. Also benches along the path if you want to take a break. Trail branches out couple times, but we stayed on "Limerick" trail. Go clockwise if you want to climb UP, and go counterclockwise if you want to slide down on your butt, which was me. Good unexpected arm...
