Audubon Society Sea & Sage — Attraction in San Joaquin Marsh

Got a couple hours before you have to fly out of John Wayne and don't know what to do? Here you go. This is super close to the airport so it drew my eye while looking for something to do close by. Spent about an hour and a half walking the trails along the marshes and through the butterfly garden. Saw a large yellow, white and black striped monarch caterpillar devouring a leaf. Great place for a walk and enjoy nature. Several trails from about half a mile to maybe two. Mostly level with only a slight incline. Gravel trails and at one point rutted so might be difficult for handicap access. A very nice "Audubon House" visitor center with exhibits. There were two covered pavilions with tables. Restrooms and some handicap parking....
