This is one of my favorite park in the bay area. I often came to this park at least 3 to 4 times a week for our morning walks with my boxer. Many people bring their dogs here because there's an off-leash dog parks within this big beautiful place. There are multiple Nature trails leading to the Coyote creek for many hikers and runners. They have playgrounds for Toddlers, picnics areas for family and friends, and many other activities for everyone of all ages as well. My favorite part of the park is the beautiful Lake, the Birds, Geeses, the Ducks, Turtles, Wildlife, and the many beautiful surrounding Trees. During the days, weekdays that is, it is much better and lesser people to walk around and check out the entire park! I love the Quietness, the Peaceful Serenity here! Gorgeous Settings! There are also multiple well-kept restrooms on site for the public. I recommend coming this Hellyer County Park as a quick getaway from the City, especially this...
Read moreFrom the Hellyer stop sign I made a left and another quick left. Leads to a parking booth. Turning right you can go either straight and park near the jungle gym, playground and BBQ picnic area, OR you can go right and it will lead you to another parking area more towards the back of the park, where there are benches near the lake, trails to walk or ride your bike. I never payed attention to how nice this park feels. I used to love going to Alum Rock Park but I started getting a little scared of the wild life, mostly the Big Cats that seemed more frequent. Hellyer is also like a little water park, has restroom nearby. It was really beautiful. I didn't know the ambiance was so delightful. Lots of shade with a nice open space in the middle for kids to fly kites and play. I definitely would love to visit and explore more of this park. Thanks for the Invite to you BDay Cassie♥️🎉 see you tomorrow for round two...
Read moreHellyer County Park was the perfect setting for our recent crew outing. We kicked things off with a relaxed lunch under shaded picnic tables near the lake, where ducks wandered by and the breeze kept things cool. The open layout made it easy to spread out, and the calm atmosphere gave us space to catch up without distractions. It’s one of those parks that feels tucked away but still accessible—ideal for lowkey gatherings.
After lunch, a few of us hit the paved bike trails that loop around the lake and connect to the Coyote Creek Trail. The paths were smooth and well-maintained, perfect for casual riders and more seasoned cyclists alike. Later in the afternoon, we set up a casual football game on one of the open fields—not competitive, just enough movement to balance out the chill vibe. Between the velodrome energy nearby and the quiet lake views, Hellyer gave us a full day of variety without ever...
