It's a pretty short hike, but it also gets fairly rough if you try to go past the P to the very top of the hill. Before the P, most of the trail is a road, so although its steep enough to wind people who don't hike very often, it's a safe trail. Past the P, the trail becomes more of a trail and a lot more of a climb. Watch your footing if you plan to go all the way up, I've seen quite a few tumbles going up and down the P due to loose rocks and dirt.
The view is great from both the P and the top of the hill, but if you make it to the top you can see the canyon behind the hill, whereas the P view only allows you to see the campus and town.
Parking is available really close to the trail, although you may need a permit depending on the day/time. They keep changing the parking rules on campus, so if you'll be driving over check for the current parking rules before you go.
