No issue with the place itself. The issue is with one ranger. A curly short haired woman. Didn't catch her name. I am a fire evacuee. Was told I could park my RV at this place during the evacuation. As I was there my property in Berry Creek burned as well. I took two days and drove to check my property over there. When I returned I was rudely greeted by the mention ranger. She told me she need the rv gone. Today!! She exclaimed. As if I was wasn't invited. She said I would be ticketed if it wasn't gone on her return. She said she had been trying to catch me for a week. When I asked why wasn't I contacted by phone she said my number was lost. If I wasn't welcome I should have never been invited. The feeling I got was terrible. It's not like I choose to be there. I have a home and no doubt wanted to be there. Every other ranger was welcoming and gave no issue. But did warn about the curly short haired ranger. Stating that she is quick to hand out citations. She is definitely not a...

Rare scenic beach access to the South side of the Bay with good view of the San Francisco International airport in the far background. What makes the place unique is the abundance of public space available along the beach with miles of waterline access. There is also plenty of parking, which a rare scene in the Bay area in particular. The park adjacent to the beach provides lots of grassy area for family sports activities and special play area for young kids. Quite often this is a good area for watching and photographing wind surfers and para-glider surfers. Also a good location to photograph airplanes that are (mostly) landing or taking off on the two parallel runways that extend into...

A good place to visit, walk and picnic. Remember that you need to pay $6 as an entrance fees.

Pros: Good place to surf and picnic. Clean restrooms Ample place to walk and bike Good views Good place to fish

Cons: High winds Sand is rocky and not playable for kids You will see an Airplane every six minutes (Some ppl like it)

So if you are looking for only beach then I do not suggest as Half Moon beaches are way way better than this and are close to this beach. But, if you looking to enjoy some quality time with your family doing multiple things then this is a go to...

Nestled near San mateo Bay, this place is a great spot if you have your own bike and want to cycle near the beach. There is a park as well where you can have BBQ parties with your friends and family. I believe they also allow you to get your fishing rods and catch some bay area fish. SFO airport is just on the opposite side, saw you get a great view of lot of plane activity around. Overall this place is really calm and serene. You are charged an entry fee of 6$ if you have a car.

This is my happy place—perhaps in San Mateo County, perhaps in the world. It is an oasis of tranquility, a place to slow down and simply breathe. It tells the story of the changing seasons: full and vibrant in spring and summer, quieter and more gentle in fall and winter. The beach is pleasant, the view serene. I love watching the planes descend toward San Francisco International Airport, gliding gracefully through the sky. And on a crisp winter morning, I brought her here.
