I’d give this place a 2 1/5 star review. Let’s start with the points I gave. So it’s quiet and in a decent part of town. It has 3 different play areas, (I’d say 4 but one “play area” is fake grado of rock and a couple tunnels but it has signs all over the place saying no play due to pesticide spraying). It’s close to the water for a Great Lake view and finally there are plenty of tables, benches and 2 shelter houses. Now what made this park loose points. It’s not kept maintained at all. The park areas are covered in trash. There’s goose poop all over the place I get it when it comes to the grass areas but this included the stairs to the playground and all over the “slash pad”. If the splash pad isn’t running you can’t tell where it is. ( It’s located between the larger play area and the restroom, identified by the short red pole). The beach area is small and not really a beach. More just for the view not for fun purposes. The kids had fun of course but not somewhere we would spend hours at.
I don’t know how to add...
Read moreLion's Park is a place that you can interact with people or if you choose you can be in solitude. There are mature trees here along with a playground at each end of the park. In addition there are two shelters, and a small beach that has recently been restored. Not many people take advantage of the Beach so there's plenty of room to swim. There is no lifeguard so you swim at your own risk. I remember years ago people used to come and paint the sunsets from here because they are so beautiful. There's a walkway that is elevated above the beach so you're looking down on the water. The walkway is cement with benches Place periodically along the walk. There are plenty of picnic tables play strategically throughout the park with a water fountain and rest rooms available. So get an ice cream sit and watch your kids play while you eat it and enjoy the cool breeze under the mature trees at Lion's Park. It is my...
Read moreIt’s a nice park. Not very big, obviously. A few picnic tables, so enough space for a family gathering of a few dozen people. Good for children, there is a small slide suitable for toddlers, and a swing set on the western edge. Next to the swing set is a water fountain that kids can run through on a hot summer day. The rest rooms are near that fountain, so you have a walk of about 1 minute from the picnic tables to the rest rooms. It’s near a residential area, so maybe go easy on the speaker volume. You have to cross RR tracks to get here, so if you like to watch trains, there...
