Toft Ice Cream in Sandusky, Ohio is a delightful and nostalgic experience for the whole family. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a clean and inviting atmosphere that transported us back to the charm of an old-fashioned ice cream parlor.
The variety of options at Toft Ice Cream is truly impressive. With a wide range of flavors to choose from, we found ourselves spoiled for choice. And let me tell you, the ice cream itself is absolutely delicious. Each scoop was bursting with flavor, and the generous portions meant we had plenty to share among ourselves.
One standout flavor that I highly recommend is the birthday cake ice cream, especially when served in a crispy and fresh waffle cone. The combination of creamy, rich ice cream and the delightful crunch of the cone was simply heavenly. And if you're a fan of shakes, you're in for a treat. Their shakes were not only tasty but also satisfyingly thick and creamy.
For those looking for a whimsical and unique option, the unicorn ice cream is a must-try. It's not only visually appealing with its vibrant colors, but the taste is equally delightful. My daughter couldn't get enough of it!
Despite our visit being close to closing time, the employees at Toft Ice Cream were incredibly kind and accommodating. They were more than willing to help us navigate through the multitude of choices and made our experience all the more enjoyable.
Now, it's worth mentioning that the line can get a bit long at times. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how efficiently it moved. Before we knew it, we were eagerly digging into our delectable ice cream creations.
If you're looking for a place that checks all the boxes for a fantastic ice cream experience - cleanliness, nostalgic ambiance, extensive options, delicious and generous servings, friendly staff, and a reasonable wait time - Toft Ice Cream in Sandusky, Ohio is the place to be. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreWorst customer experience I’ve ever had. The young female employees give you dirty looks and make snarky comments about “almost closed!” “So close to closing” were one of the few rude phrases I heard while trying to support a local establishment after a long day at Cedar Point. My 5 year old daughter tripped and fell on their sidewalk and had blood running down her knee. The young male employee cleaning tables directly by us did not even pick up his head or check and ask if we needed assistance just like the girls inside. It took one of their customers to get her a Band-Aid which I would expect from a big chain establishment, rather than a family owned. While trying to order the girl with blonde hair and a ponytail and glasses kept giving me and my 5 year old daughter dirty looks while she quickly chose her second choice in ice cream since as usual, they were out of many flavors. Poor customer service seems to be a common theme here as I read these other 1 star reviews. We drive an extra 20 minutes to get here from Cedar Point. We were there by 9:10. Acting so unprofessional 20 minutes before closing is an embarrassment to the company. We will just stop at Dairy Queen by Cedar point on the way home from now on. Much friendlier...
Read moreRude employees and bad company policies. We are a family of 7 and visited this location on Fathers Day. We arrived and ordered ice cream at 10:30Pm, went outside to the patio area and sat down at 2 tables for all of us. Apparently the location closes at 11pm, BUT, you can not be at any table at 15 minutes prior to closing. So as we are half way through our ice cream at 10:45 Pm, the worker who was wiping tables off -while talking away on her cell phone- walks up to us and blurts out "The patio is now closed!" We looked at her as she set her wash cloth on the table, ok we thought, I guess we are leaving. So we take our kids, 7 years old to 14, and pack them as well as unfinished ice cream in the car of course spilling it onto the seats. Lovely!
I want to know how many people reading this have ever been at a restaurant at closing. Did staff walk up to you and say, "Hey, we are closed!" making you take your food and leave. Typically, you are given time to finish. It's part of the customer service that comes with the food service industry. Not so with Tofts I guess.
They might have the right to have policies and employees that think this is how to do business, but we as consumers also have the right to take our...
