I used to love this trail very much, My wife and son were there three times in a row in the month August, 2020, every weekend. Our first time ever was the second Saturday of August. Hiking in Los Padres National Park was an alternative to the high temperatures in the Trails we usually do in the Valley. We are not coming back, after running into 3 rattle snake in 3 hours was enough of a warning. The red line on the picture of the map shows our last walk, back and forth. So beautiful but we are scare of snakes. Just wanted you...

I brought my mother here during a visit because she wanted to go on a hike. However, my mother does not like to sweat and I thought, “where about in Santa Barbara do I take my mother dearest in the stifling heat of September to hike where the sun will not beat down on to our poor mortal bodies?” Jesusita proved to be the go to trail with its oak coverage and gradual incline. She did end up sweating, but alas that it what the human body...

Great hike! Really enjoyed this gem. It was green and lovely with a little water still in a few sections of riverbed. It was more climbing than I'd expected (1800 ft in about 3.5 miles) but the view over the entire SB basin & out to the Channel Islands, was spectacular! Will definitely recommend this to friends, and look forward to...
