Super fascinating 1960's pioneer home restored and just like it might have been when 2 wives and 11 children shared it with the mighty, heroic Indian Missionary and peacemaker, Jacob Hamblin. Take a short, guided tour through each room. Informal. Ask any questions. Great for families! The guides are volunteers and know a lot about the man. Don't miss the Brigham Young Winter Home and St. George Tabernacle also! All 3 properties are 1860's pioneer structures and highly...

This is a living museum honoring Jacob Hamblin, a missionary to the Indians back in the mid and late 1880s. The stories the dosents told were most interesting. Also, it was free and kids were welcome. We spent perhaps an hour there and really enjoyed our visit. Well worth the stop! And it is right on the back road between St. George, Utah and South into Arizona. It's off I-15 in St. George and back on I-15 at Beaver Dam in Arizona. It's a fun diversion...

Beautifully restored historic landmark rock home of Jacob Hamblin - early settler, church leader and peacemaker with the local Native American Indian tribes of that time - circa mid 1800s - complete with beautiful flower garden, peach orchard, and grape vineyard that was part of that era. Volunteer senior missionary guides from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provide a 15-30 minute tour and historical background of the...

In this place, I learned about Jacob Hamblin and his brave family. Jacob Hamblin, a 19th-century Mormon pioneer and missionary, built bridges on understanding with Native Americans in the American Southwest. He learned their languages, mediated conflicts, and facilitated peaceful coexistence. His efforts fostered cooperation, aiding in the settlement and development of the region while respecting indigenous cultures and traditions.

We toured this historic family residence of a pioneer and his family. The guides were gracious and kind. The visit was free. The volunteer docents were full of stories about the fourteen children and the life those self reliant Utah Territory settlers lived. We enjoyed learning the happy and wholesome way they lived for each other. They lived with faith in every footstep.

Free! Learn all about a place that has a very interesting history. The elders we had were Great! They taught us much and answered every question we had. They made the tour! Really great place for history buffs - no need to be Mormon to appreciate! Go and learn!
