University Terrace Park — Attraction in Santa Cruz

This park is very big and it reminds me of Wildwood Park in Saratoga. Now I would leave 5 stars, but some people let their dogs run off leash outside the designated dog park. Keep in mind that the dog park is massive and is the biggest dog park I’ve ever seen, yet some people just can’t keep off leash activities inside this massive area. Though it’s not a constant issue, it can be a little frustrating as there is an obvious huge designated area for off leash dogs. Otherwise this is a nice place...

Something for everyone! Tennis, basketball, walking paths, fields, playground. Separate small dog and large dog parks (assuming everyone followed the rules...) that are both big. The dog areas can get muddy in places so wear outdoor shoes if it's been raining. The tree canopy can make the dog areas a bit dark and chilly so bring a sweater. I love my morning walks up to this park. the eucalyptus trees and the light from the sun coupled with the smells of winter are extraordinary. The tennis court is cleverly positioned inside of the dog park such that when balls fly outside of the courts they land right where the dogs can go fetch them.
