The first time we came here, it was nice. Our dogs got along great with the small dogs that were present. The next time, a small dog owner informed us that 1:00pm is informally the time for ONLY toy breeds. This is a public park. Nothing is posted about certain times being reserved for a certain size or breed of dog. When our youngest wanted to play with hers, she told us to keep ours away from hers as if she owned the place. Excuse me, we all pay taxes here and Santa Rosa is a city in Sonoma County inhabited by more than 1 individual. Then a large un-neutered Yellow Labrador showed up and incessantly pestered and tried to mount our girls. The owner could have cared less. He said the dog wouldn't do anything. Well he was already doing something because he was un-neutered and out of control. People are very clickish here.    Read moreGreat place, with an easy walkable concrete path, two separate bathrooms, baseball diamond, duck pond, very open grassy spaces, with many benches, picnic tables, and BBQ's. There's a good large playground with swings and the usual in a great shady central location. It's also located next door to the Rincon Valley Public Library.
There's a very large, fenced, designated dog park area with tennis balls, water, buckets for water, poop bags, and trash cans - this is a leash free dog park area. Often a very busy place!!
Please BEWARE: Often there are *IRRESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS who choose to break the leash law ordinance and allow their dogs to be OFF LEASH outside of the dog park area!! I live locally and my vet has advised me not to go there, because on average he said that there's at least two dogs weekly brought in on emergency from either dog park area or off leash dog fight incidences.

Located in a residential area with parking on the street, or you can use the entrances accessible from Mondacito Avenue or Badger Ave as both have a parking lot. This place is a gem.
