This was my second time going to debonne & i more than likely wont be back. The staff was okay, I didn’t have very much interaction with them as it was essentially self serve. We ordered a wine flight which came in plastic shot glasses with a small piece of chocolate. We also got bruschetta and the Brie with blackberry jam. The bread for the bruschetta was hard and not very appetizing, they also use mozzarella balls instead of slices so there wasn’t much on it. The Brie wheel had basically no cheese in it, just enough to cover two crackers then it was gone which is shocking considering it’s 15$. Everything was served on plastic, in plastic, or with plastic utensils. We got the winery burger to share, I don’t know if the burger was frozen or something but it had no flavor and was dry. Tasted like it was reheated & served which wouldn’t be surprising since it took 5min to come out after being ordered. When I went to the bar to pay the check, the employee took my money & said “have a good night” and never returned with my change. I’m a server, I have no issue tipping, if anything I overtip most of the time. However, she didn’t exactly serve us at all. We had a buzzer to go up to the bar & grab our food when it was ready. The most she had to do was buss the table. I was going to leave a tip but she took it upon herself to just keep my change anyways. It wasn’t an insane amount so I let it go but I think it’s very rude to act somewhat entitled to a customers money. Overall, the quality of any food we got did not match the prices on the menu. If you’re expecting fresh food worth the money you’re spending, don’t get...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. This was our second visit for Mother’s Day as we had come here last year. Our visit last year was great but this year left so much to be desired. We sat outside in the back and had about 15 people in our party. Last year we brought some snacks (cheese trays and desserts) to share and we also ordered a lot of food and drinks. This year we were reprimanded by one of the workers and she told us we had to put our food we brought away because outside food was not allowed. Nobody ever came to see if we were ok or needed anything. We got our own food and drinks and cleaned off our tables which was a lot due to the size of our party. The servers were out helping other people but never once came to us. The food was mediocre at best. My burger, which tasted like a frozen patty, was made incorrectly and my son ordered fries with his sandwich that he never got. When he went back up (and waited 20 minutes to be helped), he ended up having to pay an extra $10 for the fries and they were burnt. Some of the food took almost an hour to be finished and the beepers that we had did not reach back to where we were, so we had to wait inside to make sure we got our food because, again, nobody was helping us at all. Also, there were no trash cans around besides up front which was pretty far for us and a complete pain to carry everything across the entire yard to throw out with a big party. Our visit was more work than it was worth and we will surely be going somewhere else next year where we will at the very least be acknowledged. This establishment definitely needs...
Read moreMy wife visited and toured the Debonne Vineyards a few weeks ago. It was quite enjoyable. We've toured several wineries in California, NY and Virginia. So we have some other winery tours to compare it to.
The Debonne tour was among the better tours. The facility was midsize relative to the other wineries we have toured.
The tour we took included a tasting of several wines and included cheeses and other food, all very enjoyable.
I believe if you like a wine, regardless of the price or how famous the vineyard is or the year it's a good wine and the wines we tasted were all very good. The if you "like a wine it is good wine" idea is something I've heard from many food and drink professionals.
The tour also included a tour of their wine making process, equipment and facility. There was some educational portions of the wine making process and equipment. They were also happy to answer any questions. I'm very curious and love to learn so i generally ask a lot of questions and I did on this tour.
Because of the time of year there wasn't much to tour of the vineyards. And there was no harvesting going on at the time.
We enjoyed the wines we tasted so decided to buy some....
We ended up buying a lot more wine than we expected because we discovered the price of the wine at the winery was lower than if we bought it from retail store. Instead of a few bottles we bought a few cases. We where also surprised even the retail prices weren't higher.
To top it off the staff offered to carry the cases of wine to our car and loaded it in. .... A perfect...
