Buchanan Park Boat Ramp — Attraction in Sayreville

Buchanan Park is very large with plenty of parking for cars and vehicles with trailers. The boat launch can handle a number of boats launching at the same time with ample tie offs and docking area. There is a large gazebo there, but there is no seating anywhere that I could see. I guess you have to bring your own. I was there scoping out fishing and crabbing spots, but I don't know if either is allowed there. There were no signs either way. It's a nice spot to walk the dog and look at the water. Benches. Scenic view of the old coal plant and the Middlesex County dump. It's actually a really nice place to launch a boat into the Raritan River. Floating docks, two launch ramps, plenty of parking. I've never seen it too busy. You need a permit to launch with a trailer, I believe there is some discount for being a resident of Sayreville and/or Middlesex County. Cute waterfront park. People launch their jetskis and boats here daily. Benches and railings to sit and watch the water.
