Kennedy's Country Gardens — Attraction in Scituate

What a local gem Kennedy's is. It's a family-run business and it shows. We used Kennedy's to design our back patio, yard and fire pit and they did an amazing job. The personal service was the best part. Chris Kennedy came to our home time and again -- not only for the initial design and plan, but to make sure the plantings were just right, that the crew putting in the patio was on point and that the job was done on time. Kennedy's has become a family tradition for us. Come Spring and summer, we head over to pick out our hanging plants and flowers for the garden. In Fall we're there for mums and pumpkins and we wouldn't go anywhere else to get our Christmas tree. Their selection is great and the trees really last. We get hot cider, pick a tree and wreath, get a special ornament from the gift shop and every year my girls take a photo with Chris by the tree they've chosen. Kennedy's will even put the Christmas Tree stand on for you before tying it to your roof to avoid battles at home. They call it the Marriage Saver! Genius. I also want to give Kennedy's their due for how involved they are in community projects and how generous they are with charities. I volunteer for a social service organization on the South Shore and Kennedy's is a fantastic supporter. Sometimes it can be hard to get local businesses to donate to yet another charity because they are so often called upon, but Kennedy's always has the same answer, "How can we help?" I will choose to spend my money at a business that supports its own community over a "big box"...

One of the best selections of indoor plants on the south shore. Several generations of the family have worked in the industry. Their experience is tough to match. Far better than any box store. It's worth the extra money for sure. I am the third generation of shopper, and my daughters are the fourth. Having said that, I often find myself challenged by their approach when I'm talking with some of the more seasoned staff. I purchased a pottery trio from Kennedy’s for a freshly remodeled bedroom. I had plants for 2 out of the 3 pots and showed the store manager a picture of the space for a recommendation on a third. She recommended a gorgeous Schefflera and helped me find one in the right size for the last pot. It’s hard to find large and healthy specimens and this one fit the container and space beautifully.
