Now this is a very fun place secretly hidden and a cut of Scotch Plains lies a gem ever pretty Park. They have a variety of different rides in gadgets along with spouting water as well. This is a place where all ages of the family can go with little kids and older kids especially on hot days to cool off. This place feels really safe for me and my children and my family's children as well. I have lived in Scotch Plains for several years and have never new about this park up until this year. The park is clean there is plenty of parking. The Park is open and you can see a lot of space surrounding the park as well. This this park was really well put together with children in mine. I actually had a good time myself when we took the kids to this park swinging on the pole that looks like an umbrella which is tall enough for an adult. Also the ground is made out of that rubber East off cement looking like track material so all of the running around will not hurt your feet or your children's feet. And almost feels as though I'm walking on a giant tar mat. If it feels as though if I were or my children were to fall that no one would actually be hurt or scraped up by asphalt or cement and rocks as the turf that they laid down is very soft and bouncy. I am extremely happy to have found out about this part and would like to share my pleasurable experiences in this part with everyone. If you have small children this is the great place to take them. If you can't go to make it to a pool or a water park during the summer months you can definitely come here and let the children get wet as they have the spouting spring shooting up out of the ground so it will be impossible for any children to drown. The park is not really huge but it is a decent size and large enough for plenty children to run around play you on many different swing sets and monkey gems. There are also benches around for the parents to sit around. I am so pleased with this place I can't wait until next spring to bring the kids by for a visit. The hardest part was getting the children to leave the park because they were having so much fun it was almost impossible to pull them away. However after tempting them with an Icee from Rita's it made it a lot...
Read moreGreat playground and spray-park for summer. If your child brings a bucket or a squeeze-bottle, the kids love to spray each other with water. They even enjoy doing this on the playground next to the water area. The main area has a softer padding for kids. Recommend putting a swim shirt on the boys for when they slide down the slides as when the children add water to the playground area, they slide faster and unfortunately some children would get almost a tug burn from it where their parents had to remove them bc it hurt.
There is usually an icee truck there to buy some icees and some people do sell drinks or food from their personal wagons which is helpful.
There is also a nice grass area in the back and on the sides for people to picnic, throw catch pr like one of my sons - play with his toy archery set.
We appreciated the paved paths as well as you can walk, bike, scooter, skateboard or rollerblade on them around the park.
On holidays pr on holiday weekends it can get pretty busy and packed. I noticed it was much harder for parents to watch much younger children in the spray and playground area as most of the...
Read moreIt's a nice and newer park to the Scotch Plains community. The playground's ground is multi colored and is made from a bouncy-rubber like substance and there's a sprinkler/fountain water area in the center. There's also bathrooms, a soccer field, and paths that lead to a gazebo and a steep hill. The problem is that there's too much trash and pollution from the gigantic families that come here from ALL OVER! Many come from ghetto areas and some people are shady like one Spanish guy who kept staring at us from his van and one guy who hid in the woods when we walked passed him and stared back at us until we walked all the way out of the park onto cooper road. There's not enough parking either when school buses come and the noise from the soccer teams from north Plainfield that somehow play here are intolerable, plus the screaming kids and parents. Better off coming at night but besides that, it's...
