Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA — Local services in Scotch Plains

I've been a member of the FSPY Swim Team for 7 and a half years now, and I can not explain just how much this place feels like home to me. There are two pools, one of them is warmer for little ones and parties, and the other is a little bit colder, but the perfect temperature for workouts in the water. The pools are very clean, which is great because we spend hours in the pool everyday. I would say that the YMCA is the perfect training environment. Upstairs there are mini gym rooms where we can have dryland. There's an elevator which makes the second floor wheelchair accessible. The locker rooms, changing rooms, and bathrooms are all very clean and sanitary, making it a great place to bring kids. The staff are just wonderful, and I absolutely love the coaches that work with me. I have improved tremendously during my swimming career, and I am so thankful towards everyone who has helped me get where I am. Excellent place to meet people of your age group in the morning, very well kept,clean well lit,and comfortable in summer & winter. They have two pools ,werlpool,sauna and showers. Trainers are Always watching out for your wellness & make recommendations. They have many optional programs to offer at different times of day. The exterior is very well kept, the parking lot looks like it could hold about 150 cars and has plenty of Handicapped spaces. Rest rooms are plentiful and CLEAN. Awesome facility with the greatest team of staff that actually succeed in create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for those they service!

I have been a member for 5 years, however I am especially so pleased with the recent Fall community event the Scotch Plains YMCA hosted. It was obvious that they truly put a lot of effort and coordination into the event to support others less fortunate in the community have access to their services 😊.
