As a member of Temple Sholom of 50 years I have watched a formerly vibrant congregation diminished by decreasing membership and leadership that is failing to meet the needs of its membership. As a now senior citizen I have almost nothing to continue to draw me back; I pray that new leadership can revitalize a failing congregation and welcome me back for reasons beyond what they expect me to contribute financially without providing any services in return. The Temple Sholom community is warm and welcoming. Every member truly counts and is encouraged to volunteer and be a part of building the community we want to have. I particularly like that our congregants and clergy are down-to-earth and quickly got to know my family and me.
