Cathedral Redwoods — Attraction in Scotts Valley

July 2025 Gorgeous coast redwoods in a circle, surrounding a small area. The cooler temperature among the trees allowed us a snack and rest break.

Approx 4 miles round-trip from the Visitor Center, depending on the exact route taken. Take a photo of the trails for guidance, but Maps is pretty good at GPS location.

There's a paved road (Pipeline) that we took most of the way. The alternate option is a bunch of different trails with great signs at key intersections.

Fantastic day hiking in glorious Redwood forest! Not too strenuous at all, and the trees are larger than I was expecting, certainly some of the largest redwoods I've seen outside of Redwood NP. Trails are very well kept with plenty of paved access roads --- one could easily mountain bike...

Very nice and serene spot. We went through the redwood loop which has much bigger redwoods, and then took the river trail to Cathedral. The river trail is fairly easy with bridges switching over the river. The cathedral itself is a nice respite in the middle...
