At the end of summer 2023, I traveled with my wife and son to New York City, where I decided to stop at the Roll Call facility. I was eager to use their indoor shooting range for my enjoyment and to let my son, who has grown up playing Call of Duty, experience shooting a pistol and a real automatic rifle. As Canadians, we face some draconian restrictions on firearms, and with recent changes in our country, shooting sports and hunting have become even more limited, impacting gun enthusiasts like us. We spent some time at the range, shooting and chatting with the friendly staff about various topics beyond just the store's content even some historical artifacts are interesting. The experience was incredibly pleasant. In the summer of 2024, I visited the northern part of New York State and wanted to rent a pistol or possibly an automatic rifle to shoot at an indoor range within that state. Unfortunately, I learned that this wasn’t possible in New York state, even though I had called ahead from Canada to confirm that this option was available for travelers. Despite the disappointing experience, I reached out to Roll Call and was welcomed back without any issues. I do not regret driving almost two hours from New York state to Pennsylvania because my experience at Roll Call remained as positive as ever. I highly recommend Roll Call to anyone traveling in the area. Just give them a call ahead of time and give it a try. This indoor range may not be huge, but it offers a great experience, especially when it’s not too busy. I would like to point for one minor issue and this one is not unique, which is the air exchange at the range. This means that if it is quite hot outside, you can expect it to be slightly hot inside the range as well, even though the other rooms are much cooler. It is normal, but just be aware that the air circulation is working...
Read moreI probably won't return here. While stopping in to use the range. I stopped by the gun counter to see what I could possibly get for my guns if I had decided to trade them in. One of the firearms was a 38spec revolver. After handing it to them. The gentleman behind the counter said he wasn't interested because the firearms "lock up" was bad and that the revolver was out of time. I thought this was funny because it had just been to a gun smith for a trigger job a year or two prior and had been shot very little. The smith was Don Dimond of Dimonds Bluing in Harvys Lake who is now retired. A second gentleman from behind the counter also came to the same conclusion. After watching these two fumble with closing the cylinder I told them the proper way to close it was to push it closed on the crane and index the cylinder. Funny how it closed when I did it. After seeing this, the second gentleman said he be interested in it for fifty dollars he exclaimed that he was taking a risk, which I could understand if you were competent at handling firearms. So I left it with Stewart's gunsmithing at the store. After two weeks of having my gun the smith called me and stated that there was no issue with the gun. So the smith already confirmed what I had known and the kicker was I had to pay thirty-five dollars for the pleasure. When I walked in to pick up the revolver I had mentioned it to the sales man who offered me fifty for it, that stewards said there was no issue with the firearm. When I left the shop the sales man refused to look at me probably because he knew he was wrong. Please...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that this place rocks. I typically like a lot of “big bore” stuff that isn’t always commonly available. Because of this, I typically don’t find what I’m looking for anywhere else. These guys have brand new stuff in stock almost as soon as it’s released. Further, they have exotic pieces as well, and they have a very good “used” selection too. I’ve purchased from them numerous times. If they don’t have it in stock, they can get it. If for some reason they can’t get it, they will receive and transfer your firearms from wherever you CAN find it if it is an exotic or otherwise “out-of-stock” item that you have shipped to them from other dealers. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Roll Call, and I drive almost an hour one-way to get there, with zero complaints.
EVEN FURTHER, I always come back to them when I need my sights changed. So far, I’ve had them swap out my stock sights to tritium “night sights” on 4-different Glocks, and 1-1911/Delta Elite. Again, I have zero complaints, and Jerry is the f’n man.
Overall, this is a great shop, with good people and good vibes. I’ve sent lots of my friends their way in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. I have nothing bad to say about this spot. They also have pretty great prices for range / firearm rentals too, not for nothing. Highly...
